diy :: outdoor planter

This bit of inspiration comes from Annette at Pot-ted, a nursery and patioscaping company (and also a wonderful shop for great plant containers, mid century outdoor furniture and succulents galore).

The wall was built with 12" cinder blocks (the kind you would use to build a column) and then Liquid nails was used to hold them together so you don't have grout lines and also it allowed for more flexibility. In fact in order to make bottoms for the blocks that are sticking forward, the pieces of cinder block were cut to fit the inside and then were liquid nailed in.

The planting is new and as it fills in and starts trailing, it's going to look even better. The cinder blocks allow for different iterations you could make depending on how much space you have. Also, they're really cheap and can be painted if you want to match them to your decor.
