declaration of independence

Mindy Belloff of Intima Press in New York City re-produced a limited edition of the 1777 Goddard Declaration of Independence using letterpress, setting over 7,500 pieces of type by hand. Mary Katherine Goddard was the first American postmistress and the first to print the Declaration of Independence with the names of the signatories. Originally, only 13 copies of the first pressing were ordered, one for each of the colonies. Belloff has 100 in this run, available for $400 apiece and plans to print another batch with a small change to the wording of the Declaration. She plans to amend the much debated phrase, "All men are created equal" to "All people are created equal." There’s an interesting interview about the project on Felt & Wired.
