the history behind the message

No doubt you've seen these posters floating around the internet. But the history behind the original is quite fascinating. The New York Times Magazine published a story Sunday about the British propaganda poster being devised for the home front during World War II. The “Keep Calm” poster, meant to be distributed in the event of a German invasion and was extremely obscure for many decades. In fact, few saw the poster back then. Not many were distributed, and the land invasion never came.
